Nothing will be posted here. Im on a “vacation” and I dint have my pc with me, Ive got only some limited clothing.
The question is whats to be done now, im starting school again in a month, it will be a lot of 3D modeling so that should be fun! So there shouldn’t be any postings next week I guess.. until then, have fun 🙂
This week i have been sketching for new game ideas, so three different concepts were started. Even though im at a vacation right now im doing this all over my smartphone, a bit annoying to type on but what can you do.
I have realised that creating new ideas is easy, but trying to fit the game market or attract others to like your idea is much harder. But through this i have to learn wich one of these ways would provide with better outcomes. One of the things i do in this “thinking” process is that I suggest an idea for somone who i know would criticise my ideas and give me some other kind of input, this would make me reflect over my own choices.
By doing this and by asking the ones I know are better than me in different areas (or simply people that I value their way of thinking), I can retrieve better results to make a concept from. And of course I keep the ideas to the people I trust!
So this week have all been about concepting and reflecting, and if everything goes well, I will start my first side project and maybe even sell it! So lets cross fingers on this one. (And as usual I will post my mistakes here haha!)
Now back to my “vacation”
So after the awards i spent my time working, i had applied for an internship but didn’t get any response from that. So i decided to sit down and start writing on a game concept, trying out some new stuff, and taking up drawing again.
This summer proved to be more hectic than i have expected it to be, but the future have never been that predictable for me, but for this time it does look a bit great, some new lights are showing and i hope to keep this pace up for future projects.
For now ill give you some updates regarding me development in drawing and the use of colors. I am still in the learning of the use of colors, and for this i have tried to draw some colorful images. Taking this one dear for an instant:
I started searching for a picture to imitate, and after being scolded for only imitating aggressive figures ;). I decided to draw a deer to change my way of thinking and open new areas to work with. So First of i started with what i do best, just using a normal brush making some line art, then i stole the colors from a original picture and started to work with the values from there. to come this far it took me around 4 hours, i saved the progress so far just to see how it would evolve. But now i have destroyed it… So the final picture is not done yet, and i hope to make it more realistic, removing the line art and just work from there. Hopefully this will be a successful first illustration of a deer.
I will post the result of this one even if it looks like crap, so you may have a laugh next week 😉
